Lloyd moved back to South Florida, and brought his fish. One day he complained to Larry, his uncle, about the lack of local fish clubs. Larry agreed to take on the task of starting a club. Larry made contact with Vic and others of the previous GCAS. Everyone showed up one night and the club was reborn.

The first 2 years we met in the free space provided by Bass Pro Shops, but we soon outgrew their breakroom. At this point we were still an unofficial club, but had about 50 members with meetings of 20-30. So we moved the meetings to the David Park Teen Center in Hollywood, which provided us spacious quarters for an affordable rate, though the move was traumatic as we had to change the meeting day from Thursday to Wednesday.

The next big step was becoming an official club with non-profit status, which occurred in the summer of 2007.  Then we started to behave like a real club. We started the Flamingo Garden Pond Project, sponsored our first out-of-state speaker Ted Judy, and planned for our first Fish Expo.
